3-Bullet Sunday (Quotes to reflect upon, Stanley Drunkenmiller and Now You Get it)
Hi compounders!
I hope you enjoy this week’s edition of 3-Bullet Sunday :)
I. 30 Quotes I’m Pondering and Revisiting by Tim Ferriss
Some quotes are so precise and powerful that it can help shape our thinking and make us reflect.
Here are some of my favorites
Throughout my live, I’ve met many people who complain about their life but never really took action and change anything. These two quotes explains it well:
“I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.”
“People fall so in love with their pain, they can’t leave it behind. The same as the stories they tell. We trap ourselves.”
We have a bias to protect our existing beliefs, even if it may no longer serve us. In fact, we may even feel defensive when others point it out to us. Always question yourself when you feel triggered with an opposing idea and reexamine your existing beliefs.
“The truth knocks on the door and you say, ‘Go away, I’m looking for the truth,’ and so it goes away. Puzzling.”
This explains why I’m extremely particular about the information I consume. I regularly trim and refine my sources of information to protect my mind.
“A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention.”

II. Documentary on Stanley Druckenmiller
III. Now You Get It by Morgan Housel
“There was no way training could prepare a man for combat,”
Many things in life can’t be taught. It must be experienced.
An excellent piece by Morgan Housel on theory versus reality.
Till next time,
